Family Fun

  • We had a family get together for my side of the family, at the end of August. My sister had taken pictures, so I was waiting for them, but then I decided I would write about it and post pictures later :)
  • The plan was to stay the weekend at my parents' and sleep in the backyard in tents. Since we live so close, we had the option of going home to sleep in our own beds :)
  • Thursday night Brayden slept in a tent with Grandpa and Brayden's cousin, Ike. Brayden was scared at first, because it was "gark" outside. Once he was in the tent, he loved it! Brent had to work, and I went home with Tyson. My dad said it took them a while to fall asleep, but then they slept the whole night and woke up at 6:30 am. (Early for Brayden, but they had fun)
  • Friday the kids enjoyed playing outside in the water. My mom got a tarp and nailed it down a grassy hill in the backyard. The kids loved it! Brayden mostly liked to spray the hose. he was scared to go down the hill. I tried it, but it wasn't that fun for me. My big thigh got stuck on the tarp and chafed it! (I didn't go down a second time) I also threw Brayden and Tyson down. They didn't like that too much either (Okay, not threw, but pushed them down) :)
  • Friday night we watched 'The Bee Movie' outside on a projector, on the back of the house. My brother in-law made a screen with a sheet. (Good job Troy!) It turned out really good :) That was so fun!
  • That night Brent and Bryce (brother in-law) Went to see the midnight showing of 'The Dark Night' (Batman) we have already seen it, but Brent loves it. He said he wants to go a few times before it's out of the theatres. Me and Alisha (sister) went back to our place to sleep with the kids. My other sisters and their husbands, and kids slept outside in the tents, at my parents'.
  • Saturday we all went to the Aquatic Center and swam. It was alot of fun. Brayden loved going down the slide and Tyson splashed in the shallow end.
  • That night we had a dutch oven dinner and desert. we played fun games with the kids, and played ultimate frisbie with the adults. The guys enjoyed shooting arrows from a bow, and hitting a target. (thanks Bryce)
  • We had a fun weekend. My mom said this will start a family tradition, but we will see. We always say we are going to plan family traditions, but it never happens. I hope it follows through and becomes one! :)
