Finally a blog post! This 5k race was back in March (Shamrock Shuffle, 3 months post baby!) I was still able to run it in a little over 30 min. It was hard getting back into running, but ever since I was able to run 3 miles, I felt like it has become easier.
Me, with my sisters, Angela and Jessica and my neice, Jayden. They came to run the race :)
Me with my sister-in-law, Joann
My sister Trisha came with my parents to see us at the finish.
This race, Color for Tessa, was in April, for a lady that has cancer. This was the first time I had done a color race, it was fun! :) The running conditions weren't the best. We had to run through farm land and it was so muddy! The mud would build up on our shoes. It felt like you were carrying another 30 lbs! I ran it in 35 min. but then I felt better that it was actually 3.7 miles instead of 3.1, so I was still able to keep up a 10 min. mile
My cute boys ran the mile with my husband. This was the first time Tyson, my 4 yr. old, has run a mile race. I was so proud of both of them! Brayden ran it in 10min.+ and Tyson 11min.+. Amazing little guys! Practicing around our mile block has paid off.
Way to go boys!
Them, getting some of the color blown off, with a leave blower:
I really enjoy running and I'm glad my boys do to! It's such a fun and accomplishing hobby. I am doing a 15k (9.3 miles) in July, and my first half marathon in August! I can do about 6 miles now, so I really have to kick it into geer and get my miles up. Finding the time, I think is the hardest part. Wish me luck!
