In Memory of MaeLynn
I love you MaeLynn! Thank you for being so friendly to me and making me feel welcome in the Ward, when I was new. I loved talking and laughing with you. You have such a fun personality and people can't help but smile when they are around you. You will be missed. I'm so glad you are free from pain. I'm sure you have a wonderful journey ahead of you in Heaven. God be with your husband and kids in this life. Thoughts and prayers are with them always. -Kara
This pic and her Obituary pic was taken shortly after she was diagnosed in 2009. Story below
Pic taken October 2010. She had tumors in her Liver and Pancreas. I was able to see her in late summer last year and she looked similar to this. Broke my heart. :(
Family pic, when she was sick. Maelynn was a friend of mine in our previous Ward. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer about a year and a half ago. She decided not go go through any treatment and the Doctors said she only had 6 months to live. She made it alomst a year longer than said! She has 5 kids and died at the age of 30! I went to her 30th B-day celebration which was celebrated in Jan. of last year, even tho her B-day was not until April. Her family wanted to have a celebration just in case she were to pass before then. (she almost even made it to her 31st B-day). Her family was so grateful that they could spend one last Christmas with her.
Her Obituary

MaeLynn Kartchner Harris, beloved daughter, wife, mother, and friend, passed away quietly at home on January 31, 2011 from neuroendocrine cancer.
MaeLynn was born April 11, 1980 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her parents are Jerry and Marie Kartchner of Cottonwood Heights. She lived in Salt Lake until graduating from Brighton High in 1998. She then went on to Utah State University in Logan, graduating in 2002. Logan has been her home ever since.
She married Andrew Lee Harris of North Logan on June 22, 2001 in the Jordan River Temple and has five children: Kendall(8) , Ellie(6), Triston(4), Sawyer(4), and Abigail(3).
MaeLynn was an amazingly sweet person who brought joy to whomever she met. She loved painting, being outdoors, and being around other people. She served faithfully in multiple callings in the LDS church and worked hard to love her children and teach them to choose the right. Her absence will create a hole in many lives, but we are grateful she is not suffering anymore.
She is preceded in death by 3 grandparents. She is survived by her Grandmother Hanks; her parents, Jerry and Marie; sister, Jamie; husband, Andrew; children, Kendall, Ellie, Triston, Sawyer, Abigail; parents-in-law, Pamela and Lee Harris; brother and sister-in-law, Shane Harris and Jamie Harris Norton; biological parents, Andy and Lori Reese; biological brother and sisters, Devan, Jaide, and Tonia.
There will be a viewing on Friday, February 4th from 6-8 pm at the Nelson funeral home at 162 E. 400 N. in Logan.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 11:30 to 12:30 at the LDS church at 792 N. 500 E. in Logan. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. Interment will be at the North Logan Cemetery. Condolences can be expressed at nelsonfuneralhome.com.

Happenings....
We had a nice New Years at home this year. The kids went to bed at an early time and we just watched the programs on TV. I know, loads of fun huh? I enjoyed time off work. We spent time as a family, going bowling, out to eat, and just hanging out. I've been back to work since January started. It's hard getting back into the groove of things. We found out we were pregnant on New Years Eve. A week and a half later I started bleeding and unfortunatley I'm having another miscarraige :( I was hoping that we'd have a baby this year, but now I can just hope we will atleast get pregnant again this year and have no complications. I've asked the doctor if there was anything I'm doing that is causing these miscarraiges, but really there's nothing. My fear was me running and exercising, but he said that wouldn't do it. There are women I know who have run marathons while pregnant and everything is fine, even early on in the pregnancy. My Doc. also told me 1 out of 3 women have miscarraiges and it's a 50/50 chance of getting pregnant, even on your most fertile days. Everything has to match up just right to work. you wouldn't think it would be so complicated, but it is! No wonder alot of people have trouble getting pregnant. We've just been lucky with our first 2. We are still getting pregnant quickly, but now it's keeping the baby, that's the problem. So now we have to wait a couple months again, and may wait a couple more, so we can try for an early spring baby. It's hard to plan, cuz half the time it doesn't work out the way you plan it. So, we just have to go with the flow and be happy with what we have! It has been alot harder for me this time. I'm very emotional and do not feel myself. I know it will take some time and I will feel better once I can start exercising again. On a postitive note, I'd like to think that I will have 2 extra kids waiting for us, in the next life and that the reason they were sent to us for such a short time, was to get a body and return home to our Heavenly Father to do work there. I know it was meant to be, but it's hard to accept sometimes.

Christmas time
My boys had a blast this year. Here they are with a couple of their new toys: Sonic and Knuckles, Buzz and Woody, and their new jackets. Brayden's is a Cars one and Tyson's is Toy Story.
Brayden turned 5!
We had a friend party for him Dec. 16th. He felt so special. He was so filled with joy and love, he wanted to hug everyone that come through the door. It was so cute! We played pin the star on the Christmas tree and we played find the Christmas bear. One person goes out of the room and one of the kids hides the object. When the person comes back in, we sing Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. We sing louder if the person gets closer to finding the object. Each of the kids took turns. they loved it! Then he opened presents and we had Cake and Icecream. Birthday parties are so fun when their young :)

27 Ahhhh!
My Birthday was Monday Dec. 6th! Brent and I went out Saturday. We got some Christmas shopping done, then went to dinner and stopped by the Tabernacle where a Children's Choir was performing. Cute! On my B-day I still went to work, so I brought some cookies for the kids. Later, I made a cake, and spent time with my boys. Birthdays, just seem like a regular day. Once you get older, it's not as fun, but I still had a good day :)
My new Birthday coat:
Brayden's funny: I was talking to my kids and I said, "Guess, how old mommy is?.....27!" Brayden replied, "Wow, you're gonna be a Giant!" ha ha ha :)

I'm Famous!
Check out the Ensign this month! The General Conference Issue, pg. 33. That's me! I was suprized to hear that I was in it. It was when I went to Womens Conference in September. We were walking through the Temple grounds. I had stopped to talk to a man with Cerebral Palsy, that I knew. I used to work with his wife, who has Cerebral Palsy also. I got to go to their wedding and sealing. It was really neat. So when I stopped to talk to him, someone snapped a pic! I had no idea. That day all I could think about was that my purse so did not go with the dress I was wearing! Then I get my pic taken. How embarrassing, but cool! It's funny that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the pic. I should have bought a new purse! I'm just not the type to buy a purse with every outfit, owell. So the pic is mainly of my back side/profile, but it's still me :) Check it out!

Still Running
This race I did October 9th. For the River Heights post high, where the teacher I used to work for, transfered there. The post high program is school for people with disabilities. I ran my best time: 25 min. flat!

Peach days race was back in September, it was a 10k. This race is the hardest 10k I've done by far! 75% of the race is uphill! I ran it in 54 min. 14sec. I ran it with my sister Alisha. My sis. Angela was going to run it, but hurt her back. I had found out I was pregnant a few days before, but was already miscarrying and I didn't know it :(
