It has been a very emotional year already, with my miscarraige, and 2 deaths of people I know, it's been tough!
My good friend, Kristins' Dad passed away a couple weeks ago, only 51 yrs. old. Brett was always so kind to me and my family and had such a fun, goofy personality. I remember a time when I went to Masacre Rocks with their family and we were on the beach. Brett put my flip flops on and continued to walk around the beach. His whole heel off the edge of the flip flop. He walked into the water and the flip flops became slippery. It was the funniest thing to watch him try and get his balance and walk out of the water. I remember laughing so hard! He actually broke one of the flip flops and I had to finish the trip with a broken flip flop. It was almost impossible to walk with it and keep it on. I remember being a little mad, but it was so funny I couldn't stay mad long :)
My heart goes out to their family. My prayers are always with them. Brett will never be forgotten. In memory..........
Brett Wayne Peterson (1959 - 2011)
Brett Wayne Peterson, 51, returned home to his Heavenly Father and the loving arms of family Feb. 13, 2011. Brett was born Oct. 29, 1959, in Fort Benton, Mont., to loving and hardworking parents, Lyle Roland and Corma Mae Peterson. Brett was the fifth of seven children.
Brett and Laura first saw each other at the Preston Cafe; it was love at first sight, and they knew that they would spend the rest of their lives together. They were married a few months later on Feb. 25, 1982, and were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. Together, they had three beautiful children, Cortney, Kristin and Kaden.
Brett's career in construction began right out of high school at the side of his father, a builder and carpenter. Brett took this knowledge, hard work ethic, and desire to make something out of nothing and built a very successful construction business, CFCM Inc. These fourth generation skills have been passed throughout the years, father to son, down to Cortney and Kaden. Brett had many friends and associates in the business and was known for his quick wit and humor.
Another of Brett's loves in life was music. He started playing bass guitar at age 14 with his brothers and dad in the Peterson Brothers Band. This is still a source of happiness for them all.
Brett taught his kids how to ride motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles and took them on many outdoor adventures in tents. He always taught them the importance of laughing as a family. Brett had a gift to turn any situation into a joke. He never failed at getting smiles, laughter, and rolling eyes from those around him.
His passion in life was his granddaughters, Shelby, Hallee J. and Olivia. Brett excelled at being "Grampa" and "Papa Pete." He was their "Prince Charming" at Disney on Ice for five years running; he even had most of the Disney songs memorized ... but wouldn't admit to it! Instead of watching the nightly news, he endured many nights of watching Disney princesses, Dora the Explorer and Strawberry Shortcake for the hundredth time. He was their dance partner, their source of quarter machine gadgets, and their Hot Wheels Mustang Mechanic. Brett was often found on the ground, Barbie in hand, with an intricate storyline unfolding, all of the girls giggling as Grampa did his version of Barbie's voice.
Brett taught "his girls" how to camp and took them on many memorable family motorhome trips to Heise, Lagoon, and, of course, Massacre Rock. He always snuggled with them by the fire and counted the stars.
Brett is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Laura; his three children, Cortney and Coppelia Peterson of Smithfield, Kristin Marie Peterson and Bobby Brown (fiance) of Smithfield, and Kaden Lyle Peterson also of Smithfield; his beautiful granddaughters Shelby, Hallee J. and Olivia; his parents Lyle and Corma Peterson of Garland; brothers Kirt Peterson of Salt Lake City, Kent and Christie Peterson of Salt Lake City, Kevin and Nancee Peterson of Blackfoot, Idaho; sisters Debi and Dick Nourse of Salt Lake City, and Darci Weaver and Craig Knight (Fiance) of Clinton; and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and all those loved ones that called him "Uncle B."
Brett was preceded in death by his brother Steven Hans Peterson; father-in-law Jack Garrett; brothers-in-law Lyle Green, Stanley Jack Garrett, and Corey Chris Weaver; nieces Giana Nourse and Amy Lynn Peterson; nephew Chad Phillip Peterson; cousin Rob Peterson; his Grandpa and Grandma Bergstrom and his Grandpa and Grandma Peterson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at the Smithfield 20th Ward chapel, 600 E. 120 South, Smithfield, Utah. Friends and family may call at the Nelson Funeral Home 162 E. 400 North in Logan, Utah, from 6 to 8 on Thursday evening, Feb. 17, and from 9:30 to 10:30 Friday morning at the church. Interment will be at the Smithfield Cemetery.

The trunk of Joann's car after our shopping trip. Our luggage is in the back, we took up about half the runk with clothes and such :) I don't really like shopping, but I love it when I find nice things for good prices! That's what makes me happy about shopping :)
They wondered why they were having kids so fast. I guess they were all suppose to be here. She was diagnosed when her 5th baby was 9 months!
