She's here!

Kyla Michelle, was born: 12/13/11
6lbs. 6oz. and 19" long
My Birthing Story: We had scheduled an induction on 12/14 at 39 wks. I really didn't want to be induced, but I just wanted her here in enough time for Christmas and I was so done being prego! We ended up not being induced anyway, because I went into labor the night before. I started having contractions around 2:30 in the morning. They woke me up and started becoming painful. This happened the week before, so I didn't really know if this was it. I tried to go back to sleep. The contractions were coming harder and more frequent, so I told Brent and we called my Mom around 3:10, She was over around 3:30am. In that time, I quickly bathed, while contracting, then used my exercise (birthing) ball to sit (straddle) on and listened to my Hypno- birthing CD. We got to the hospital at 3:45 and was admitted at about 4am. I was having even harder contractions along the way. I got dressed in the hospital gown and was able to straddle a birthing ball, while Brent read visualizations from Hypno-birthing, for about 15 min. (getting more into my relaxed state, so labor would progress) Once everything was ready for me the nurse had me get on the bed for some monitoring of the baby and for fluids, for 15 min. They checked me first and I was already dilated to 7 cm.! During the time I was on the bed, I had the bed elevated, like I was sitting up and was in the butterfly stretch position, to open my pelvis. Brent continued to read visualizations to me. After the monitoring I really wanted to get back on the birthing ball. I was getting impatient, because it had been more like 25 min, instead of 15, like the nurse told me it would be. She finally came in to get me off the monitors. She decided to check me first. I was 9+! She said it probably wasn't a good idea to get off the bed, because I was about ready to push. I was kind of bummed, because the ball helped with the pain alot better than being in the bed. They called my Dr. in (about 5am)and by the time he came I was fully dilated and was ready to push! I tried "J" breathing through the first contraction. Which is something I read up on in my Hypno-birthing book. You breathe your baby out instead of pushing, which helps reduce the need of an episiotomy and reduce tearing. You still bear down, but breathe down, instead of forceful pushing. After that contraction, my Dr. asked if I still wanted to breathe through the contractions or push, because if I push, she'll be out! So of course I decided to push. It is alot faster and when you're in that much pain you just want it to be over. So 3 agonizing/loud (yes, I yelled alot) contractions later, she was out. She was born at 5:18 am. (I did tear a little, which he numbed before stiching) Here are more pics of that special day. Some are very intense/ in the moment pics, but so amazing!
Right when she came out! Notice the cord is still attached. Gross, I know. (I still hadn't delivered the placenta)

My sweet baby!
I was able to hold her for just a few moments after. Then they cleaned her up and I was getting takin care of. The nurse gave me oral pain meds and once those started to work and my shaking stopped, (which has happened with each child, I go into a kind of shock, which is normal) I was able to hold and feed her for the 1st time. She nursed right off, like a champ!
Dad holding her for the 1st time, before she nursed.
Brent bathing her right in the hospital room, so I could watch. With my past births, they did it in the nursery, so it was fun to actually be a part of that. The boys watching
Drying offWe actually bathed her body right on my bed!
Hello sweetyThe proud big brothers
So precious

We did it again! Natural childbirth is the hardest, but yet the most accomplishing thing ever! I'm so glad she came on her own and that everything went well, with no complications. She did have Jaundice and had to be on bili lights for 4 days, which was hard, because the only time she could be off the lights, is if she was feeding and changing. Those first few nights were really hard. She didn't sleep very well because she couldn't be wrapped up. The 1st night she was up every 20 min. until 3am then she finally slept a few hrs. I'm still up with her every 2-3 hrs, but last night she went a 4 hr stretch! Caring for a new born is very exhausting, especially with other kids to take care of, but we are slowly adjusting :)

Birth on my Birthday?

36 wks.
38 wks.
I can feel that she is so ready to come! I'm suprized she hasn't yet. At 36 wks. I was already dilated 2cm and 60% effaced. 37 wks. I was 3cm and 80%. I am 38 wks. now. I see the doc tomorrow. The past few days I have been contracting regularly, but then they go away. Some have been very painful! It started Sunday night, I couldn't sleep because I kept waking up to another contraction, so by 4am I decided to get up and start timing them, but they went away. Then Mon. (yesterday) I was contracting all day, on and off. I would time them, and they'd be 3-5 min. apart for 20 min. then go away. That happened like 4 times! I totally thought she'd come yesterday or even today, but no sign of her today. I actually feel alot better today (less contractions) than I did yesterday, so I don't know what's going on. That would be pretty cool if she came today, cuz it's my Birthday! Selfishly, that would be awesome, but I do want her to have her own day. I'm sure she will come in the next couple days :) And I'm sure I'm atleast 4 or 5cm dilated and mostly effaced, cuz I have lost my mucous plug. I'll find out tomorrow! She better come soon, cuz I'm so done. I just can't wait to have her here!

Belly pics

30 wks. (7 months)
33 wks. (8 months) Halloween :)
34 wks. Notice she dropped from 33 to 34 wks! I actually look smaller here, than the week before.
With my cute Grandma and Mom. I got to go visit my grandma at her new assisted living place in SLC. It's been a hard move for her and my grandpa. Moving from their own house to an assisted living place. My grandma is 82 and my grandpa is 87 I think. It gets to a point where it's hard to take care of yourself, along with a home and all the responsibilities that comes with it.

35 wks.  I got to go to Breaking Dawn the day before it came out.  Nov. 17th, 8:00 premiere! Out of all the pregnant women I was 1 of the 3 that got picked from a drawing and got a "Little Nudger" onsie, hee hee.
I went with my friend Crystal.  We are such nerds, but I love it! Jacob is so much better looking than Edward, don't you think?

Baby Shower

My sis and I, at my baby shower. (31 wks. prego)

Celebrating Tyson and his cousin, Jake's B-days. They are 5 days apart!
Watching a Halloween movie (Ha! Caught Tyson in the act of nose picking)
Brayden, in the Halloween parade at school.
Trick- or- Treating
Hope you all had a fun halloween!

Tyson turns 4!

My baby turned 4 October 24th! He's such a big boy now!

He still has that cute baby face :)
Helping make his cupcakes
This is the first time I actually decorated cupcakes! I was excited about how they turned out. We had a cupcake decorating class for Enrichment recently and that's how I learned the spider webs. All you do is make a swirl, starting from the inside working around the cupcake to the outside, then take a tooth pick and gently make lines starting from the center, out. Easy, just takes some time doing each one!
We took the boys to the Fun Park for his B-day
Playing games
They got Bunk beds!
Tyson was so excited to get a big boy bed. He's been in a toddler bed, which was the crib, till now. And now the bed is back to a crib, in the room for the baby :)
Happy Birthday to you!
Now it's time for Birthday spankings!!
We love you Tyson! We hope you had a fun B-day!

Blogger problems

I was trying to update my blog, but it won't let me upload any pictures. Is anybody else having this problem? Also It's been not letting me click on 'publish post', next to the 'save now' button when I'm done posting. I have to click on return to lists of posts, check the box and then click post selected. I have no idea how to fix these problems any suggestions?
I do have lots to blog about. I had a baby shower, Tyson turned 4 and I have more belly pics :)
