Yesterday I was watching a friends little boys. (Same ages as my boys) They play really well together. I know Tyson can open doors so I always have the doors locked. My friend said she would pick her kids up between 7 and 7:30. We were downstairs and sometimes I can't hear when someone is at my door, so I go up and unlock the door at about 7:15 so she could just come in. I come back downstairs everyone was playing and I was balancing my check book at the computer desk. I noticed the 2 youngest boys weren't down there any more. I go check to see if they went upstairs....nope, checked in the garrage...nope, checked in the backyard...nope. Where could they be?! At that point I started freaking out ran outside the front door, calling their names running up and down the neighborhood, asking people if they've seen them and trying to find them. They've been lost 10 min. by then. I went back to my house checked all the closets, made sure they weren't hiding, said a prayer before I went out looking for them again, praying that I would be prompted where to look for them. I was hoping I'd find them before my friend came, but I didn't. So she pulls up, sees me wandering around, I told her that the boys were gone! She was very calm and said that we would find them. She went one way and I went the other. Looking in open backyards of other peoples houses, asking around and a teenager said he saw them walking toward the busy street along the fence! what?! In my head, I'm thinking, why didn't you stop them?! But at the same time, this was my sign. Thankyou boy! I start sprinting toward the busy road, once I turned the corner, I still couldn't see them, but a man was pulling out of a shop and got out of his car, cuz he saw me running. He pointed to where the boys were and asked if I was looking for them. Yes! Yes!! Thank heavens! By then I was balling and still running toward where the man pointed. I get to the shop and a Woman had them in her car, to keep them safe. She had already called the police, so we had to wait for them to get there before I took them home. The Woman said she saw them walking along side of the busy road, and stopped to pick them up and call the police. Thank you lady!! She kept apologiesing that she called the police, but I kept telling her thank you and that's what she was suppose to do. I could't believe this happened! They could have easily been hit by a car, or been picked up by someone else! I am so thankful that they were safe and that this lady found them. I really believe that they were guided and protected by angels. As soon as I said my prayer, they were safe, even though I couldn't find them yet and I didn't know they were safe yet, they were probably walking along the road by then! Wow, what a crazy and very scary experience this was for me. Even as I'm typing this, I'm trying not to cry, because it was so scary for me! they were lost for 30 min! And not only did I lose my own child, but somebody elses! My friend said she wasn't mad at me and that it could have happened to anybody. Still though I feel so bad. I know now, that the door will be locked at all times no matter what. If I can't hear the door, owell, they'll have to call or something. So this week hasn't been the best for me. I'm so glad it's over and that everyone is safe! phew

Stiches and Getting Lost!
Tyson, Tyson, what am I going to do with you?!
On Wednesday Brayden and Tyson were running around the house. I told them plenty of times to stop! Of course they don't listen and this is what happens. When Tyson was running by me I grabbed the back of his shirt to stop him from running. He then smacked his head on the corner of the table. He hit really hard, and as soon as I saw the blood dripping, I knew we would be taking him in to the ER. Part of his ear got torn off! Sounds worse than it really was, but it was the grossest thing, seeing a little piece hanging off. he only had to have 2 stiches to hold up the skin. Tyson was a very good boy and sat real still. The doctor even said he wished he worked on more kids like Tyson. They didn't even have to hold him down, they just had their hands on him just in case. He just made an ow face when he was stiching, but that's it! No cry or sound from him. I'm glad the numbing stuff worked. It was just a local anesthetic, he didn't have to have anything else.

Ouch! That poor ear looks awful! What a brave little guy. And I'm so glad that everything turned out ok with the little ones going missing. My heart was beating and I got all teary just reading that. I would've been bawling too if I was in your shoes. I'm sorry! You need a big hug for the rough week you just endured. Hang in there you tough woman!
Kara!! I was dying when I was reading this because 2 weeks ago Chandler and Charli were RUNNING around our house and Charli fell and split her eyebrow bone open and had to get 5 stitches!! Ahhh, I kept saying stop running stop running. Will they ever learn??
Glad he's ok. That looks painful!
Wow Kara. Two scary things to have happen recently! Tyson was SO brave to not need any restraints or to have to be put under.
I am so sorry that they escaped! How scary! Do you remember when Owen, Brayden, and Chloe would do stuff like that? I think it must be that age. That really could have happened to anyone Kara. I mean...Owen knows how to get through the child lock I put on the front door and can get out...which I trust him to have more sense since he is five...but he doesn't have enough sense to close the door most of the time and I bet I can just see Reid escaping like that. My heart is racing just thinking about it. I am so glad there were guardian angels keeping them safe. :)
Tyson is such a brave little boy, I can't believe he was so calm while getting stitches! Remember when Dylan hit his head and needed stitches at Grandma Buist's? He freaked out!! They had to strap him down to the bed just to get them in! And he was about Tyson's age at the time. I'm glad he's okay though, it looks painful!
Pam and I were talking about Tyson excaping on Sunday and she said it just reminded her of Brent when he was little. She said that one time he ran off and they didn't find him for 3 hours!! How scary! I'm so glad you found him and that he's okay.
Wow... You really had a week didn't you? I hope the craziness goes away for a while for you!
Tyson is super tough!
